The second generation Cara Cara 2 has been a tried and true favorite of knife enthusiasts since its inception because of its maximum performance and reliability but now features screw-together construction which ensure precise alignment and operation. The Cara Cara 2 utilizes a lock back mechanism–a locking system positioned on the back of the handle that uses a rocker arm that pivots in the center while the blade is manually deployed with the help of Byrd’s signature comet-shaped hole. This knife is part of Spyderco’s Byrd family which offers all of the same functionality and convenience of Spyderco’s production models but at a lower price point for the budget-conscious or those especially new to knives. This lightweight model features blue FRN (Fiberglass-Reinforced Nylon) handle scales complete with Bi-Directional Texture™, a drop point style blade in a satin finish and the 4-way positional pocket clip allows for a tip up or tip down carry option on either side of the handle.
